Central Transport Expands Mexico Service
Central Transport International announced enhancements to its Mexico service. Central Transport management noted in a press release that their presence in Mexico continues to grow and expand. During the last week of January, Central Transport leadership met with Mexico Customs brokers to finalize negotiations on continued service expansion. Currently, shipments consigned to Mexico are delivered to the customs broker and once the paperwork is completed, the freight is then transferred back to a partner carrier in Mexico for final delivery.
Under the new system, the broker will now process and complete all necessary paperwork while at the dock (without delivering the freight to customs broker), thus providing a full door-to-door experience to the customer. Upon commencement in the next few weeks, Central Transport will be the only LTL carrier with the ability to provide such a service in-house. This new system reduces the handling of each shipment and can also increase service speed provided proper and correct documentation is tendered upon pickup. Accordingly, because the freight no longer has to leave the warehouse, tracking and tracing visibility of each shipment is maintained throughout the entire shipment transit.
